Does windshield chip repair work?

A small amount of clear resin is injected into the chip, crack or star
when a windshield repair is done. This simply fills up the crack or chip with a material to help prevent it from further cracking.

Are broken windshields covered by insurance?

Should I repair windshield chip?

Smaller chips and cracks can usually be repaired by our professionals for a reasonable fee. If the chip or crack can be covered by a dollar bill, it’s typically safe to repair.

Does insurance cover a broken windshield?

Comprehensive policies should cover auto glass repair or even windshield replacement, if the crack was from a covered event. If the cost of windshield crack repair is less than or even slightly more than your deductible, it would probably not be worthwhile to file a claim.

Can my windshield shatter if cracked?
